Trump Tower
Our day began today with a visit to the Trump Tower. This was on the way to Central Park and we were very interested in how the tower of the current president may look from the inside.
After we had passed the security check, a very high room opened up with a waterfall on the opposite side.
There was a Trump Store, a Trump Cafรฉ, a Trump Grill, an Ivanka Trump Store and a Trump Bar. Unfortunately, there was no Trump Wi-Fi here, the resident Starbucks probably was in charge of that. One might think that such a well-equipped building would attract many visitors, but compared to the sidewalk in front of the building, the Trump Tower was sparsely visited.
Therefore, we also moved on after a short time.
Central Park Zoo ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ป ๐
Since we wanted to drop by the famous penguins ๐ง ๐ง ๐ง ๐ง from Madagascar, we decided to visit the Central Park Zoo. On the recommendation of the park staff, we started with the tropical house and visited King Julien there.
His Highness unfortunately already had an appointment with the groom, which is why he could not receive us. So we moved on.
A further highlight of the zoo were the red pandas, which romped through their enclosure.
Awwww!
Next we arrived at the penguins, but we could not distinguish our 3 celebrities from their congeners. Approximately 20 - 30 penguins were cavorting in the penguin house, some of them were more than one meter tall and had built themselves up like bodybuilders on their stones.
Our visit to the Central Park and zoo drained us, our cameras and cell phones, so it was necessary to shortly return to the apartment to recharge the batteries.
St. Patrickโs Cathedral
With renewed energy, we made our way back down the street toward downtown to visit St. Patrickโs Cathedral. While it was barely lit, the facade of the cathedral shone brightly due to the remarkably bright stones. The interior of the cathedral seamed to be dimensionally transcendental and resulted way larger than we had expected from the outside.
Koreatown
As hunger started to plagued us and because we wanted to visit Koreatown and Little Italy, we looked around for a restaurant. After a few Metro stops, we arrived in Little Italy, but shortly headed to Koreatown.
We didnโt stay long in Little Italy, because you couldnโt walk 10 meters there without being approached by an employee of the resident restaurants and being extensively informed about the entire menu and the high quality of the restaurant. This was not exactly our imagination of the evening program.
The search in Koreatown was much more relaxed and after a short time we found an interesting restaurant called NYONYA.
Here I would like to give an unrestricted recommendation for the NYONYA. The food was very tasty and the service very friendly and patient with us. Our hesitation when looking at the menu was not from this world ๐.
We will eat here again if possible with a better idea of what we want to order.
