All-Grain Brew (Amber Ale)

Ingredients

  • 3 gallon (3.78541l) Water
  • Grain
    • 10 pound (4.53592 kg) 2 row malted barley

Preparation

  1. Assemble HLT/mash tun
  2. Heat strike WATER (pH 6.01) at 77 °C (we’ll make surplus)
  3. Grind grain
  4. WATER into mash tun
  5. Stir in grains -> Hold at 65 °C for 60 min
  6. Gravity test result: 1.076 (OG)
  7. Sparge with WATER @ 77 °C for ~45 min
    • Proceed to Boil in brew Kettle

Base wort

  • 6.5 gallon of Mashed liquid
  • 1/2 gallon if steeped liquid
    • 1# 10L Caramel
    • 1/2# Amber Malt
  • Hops additions:

  • Add Yeast Safale US-05 yeast starter
  1. Transfer wort to 1st fertilization bottle
  2. Gravity test was 1.076 (OG)
